Vinicius Souza recently came out and told Brazilian media that the only reason he isn’t in contention for a call-up to the Brazil team is because of Sheffield United.
“Not because of me, but because of the situation at my club. I think that for the national team it’s a bit of a problem. That’s my opinion. But not in relation to my football. I think that for my football I could [get called up], I really could. But there’s the whole thing, you know.
“My team doesn’t keep the ball much either. That’s very important for the national team.”
Despite his recent peculiar dig at the football club, it has been reported by The Star that Souza is a well-liked character within the Sheffield United dressing room.
In the Blades’ previous game against Bournemouth, the midfielder was dropped to the bench as he made way for United’s academy product Oli Arblaster. And in fairness, the midfield did seem better balanced with the youngster, and Tom Davies, and Gustavo Hamer in it. But when Souza came on in the second half, that balance was no longer there.
United could have bought Tommy Doyle outright for less than they paid for Souza
To say they have little money to spend this has to be the biggest waste of money ever along with the 5 million for Traore
