Sheffield United forward Benie Traore, who is currently on loan at Nantes, is facing yet more uncertainty with his future after the Ligue 1 club recently acquired a new manager.
United’s summer recruit has found it tough to nail down a place in Nantes’ team since making the loan switch. The 21-year-old arrived in France on a season-long loan in the January transfer window, with Nantes possessing an option-to-buy. But since his Ligue 1 debut, back on the 14th of January, the Ivory Coast striker has started just one game.
It’s fair to say Traore didn’t do himself any favours when he was sent off in his league debut against Clermont Foot. But now he’ll have a chance to impress his new manager Antoine Kombouar, after Jocelyn Gourvennec was sacked after Nantes’ defeat to Strasbourg just a few days ago.
Benie Traore is facing an uncertain future at Nantes and Sheffield United
Traore joined Sheffield United in the summer from Swedish side Hacken in a deal worth approximately £4 million – that move didn’t work out – the young Ivorian looked physically out of his depth in the Premier League.
Now playing under his fifth manager this season, Traore’s future is looking uncertain at both Nantes and with the Blades.
