Paul Heckingbottom questions the fight in his players

Rather than approaching Saturday’s evening clash with Manchester United with apprehension, Sheffield United’s manager Paul Heckingbottom believes his team should be eagerly anticipating it. He emphasises that it’s through collective effort why they are in fixtures like this, so they have to make the most of opportunities like this.

“We’ve fought so hard to be here, so we’ve got to enjoy it,” Heckingbottom exclaimed.

“The challenges, and everything that’s being thrown against us, we’ve got to enjoy it.

“Whether it’s the flukey goal against Fulham, the injuries, the drama late in games which seems to be going against us, so what?

Both the Blades and Manchester United are grappling with low confidence and injury woes, with the game scheduled for an 8pm kick-off for the benefit of Sky Sports viewers. The last time United were on Sky Sports they were embarrassingly beaten 8-0 by Newcastle.

Notably, Sheffield United secured a victory the last time they faced the Red Devils in January 2021. Although the visitors narrowly won 3-2 in their previous visit to Bramall Lane.

Can the Blades pull off a shock result on Saturday night and claim their first three points of the campaign?
