One of Sheffield United’s assistant coaches Keith Andrews is said to be keen on joining a Premier League club this summer. Reports from Alan Nixon claim Thomas Frank wants the Irishman to join his coaching staff at Brentford.
Andrews, 43, was welcomed to Sheffield United as part of Chris Wilder’s staff when the Blades chief reunited with the club back in December.
It is thought that Andrews could act as a persuader for Republic of Ireland international Alan Browne to join United this summer, given he worked closely with the former Preston North End man in the Ireland setup. But with negotiations with the free agent stalling, and now the potential exit of Andrews, perhaps Browne sees better options elsewhere from Bramall Lane.
Sheffield United need approval to spend money
In other news, Nixon has also stated that Sheffield United are running potential new signings past their prospective new owners. Former chief scout, Des Taylor, who is acting as an advisor for the consortium, will have a say on who the Blades spend money on this summer.
Recently United have been linked with two promising players: Harrison Burrows and Michael Cooper, and it is thought Taylor is a strong admirer of the duo.
Who is Alan Nixon ?. Why should we believe a single thing he says as most of the ‘exclusive’ garbage he comes out with is usually well wide of the mark.
