Sheffield United supporters have been eagerly awaiting contract news regarding Daniel Jebbison ever since Chris Wilder publicly stated that a strong offer had been made to the 20-year-old. However, more than a couple of months has passed without any updates, leading some fans to believe that the negotiations have dragged on too long and that Jebbison might be set to reject the fresh terms offered by the Blades.
Jebbison did previously increase speculation over his future when he began to post training images on social media without any Blades gear or even a mention about the club. But, things have taken yet another twist.
In a recent social media post, Jebbison was seen training in Sheffield United shorts, which sparked interest among fans, perhaps a hint that he will be signing on the dotted line for United.
Daniel Jebbison training with reported Sheffield United target Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
There was even more speculation since Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain appeared in the background of one of the photos. This sighting has fueled rumours, as Turkish media reports have previously claimed that Sheffield United are interested in signing Oxlade-Chamberlain from Besiktas.
The Turkish club is reportedly willing to let the former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder leave this summer, and Oxlade-Chamberlain is keen on returning to English football.
Last season, he made 30 appearances for Besiktas, scoring four goals and providing one assist. Despite these contributions, Besiktas is considering his departure.
The BBC previously reported that Oxlade-Chamberlain earns approximately £2.2 million per season in Turkey, equating to around £42k per week.
