According to The Sun, Sheffield United and Burnley have shown interest in Canadian left winger Liam Millar. The 24-year-old made 35 Championship appearances for Preston North End this season during his loan spell from FC Basel.
Preston are hopeful of signing the player permanently after impressing throughout the campaign, Sunderland are also hopeful of securing his signature.
The Canadian looks as though he will be on the move from the Swiss team this summer with having just 12 months remaining on his deal with FC Basel.
Millar, a Canadian international with 24 caps to his name, is quite rightly attracting several clubs after his bright showing in the 2023/24 season where he registered five goals and five assists for Preston.
Would Liam Millar fit in at Sheffield United?
Although Sheffield United have predominantly played a 5-3-2 under Chris Wilder, the Blades chief did switch things up early in his second tenure playing a 4-3-3 system with the likes of Ben Brereton-Diaz and Cameron Archer playing as an inverted wide man on the left of a front three.
That system and role would perfectly suit Millar if United did sign him.
Whether or not the Blades see the 24-year-old as a priority signing is another thing, but, he does have a burst of speed and an attacking spark about him that I think United do need next season. Additionally, the club must sign at least a couple of wide players so it does give us that option to play an alternative formation.
