Sheffield United’s development team put on a goal-scoring masterclass at Bramall Lane on Monday afternoon, beating Watford 5-0.
The Blades saw a few first team players start the game. Adam Davies was between the sticks whilst Anis Slimane banked 60 minutes with a fine performance in central midfield. And the young Dane Will Osula started up front, coming up with the goods with a superb 21-minute hat-trick.

At just 20 years of age, Osula has made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season and twice in the FA Cup. Unfortunately, he is yet to open his account in the top-flight but he did net three times in Sheffield United’s short FA Cup campaign.
Sheffield United’s Will Osula: One to watch
Osula has been on the receiving end of criticism by some sections of the Bramall Lane faithful for not producing in the league. But what supporters seem to forget is he has been thrown in the deep end for much of the season because of several injury concerns at the top of the pitch.
The Danish under 21’s international has bags of potential, and his playing style could prove to be a real asset in the future. He’s tall and has plenty of pace, and he’s very direct when he is on the ball.
Sheffield United need to find a way to improve his composure and decision making in the crucial moments. We’ve seen him do it for the development team, so perhaps it’s a case of trying to force it too much for the first team.
