“All you need to know…” – Pundit predicts Liverpool vs Sheffield United

Sheffield United face the tough task of trying to come away from Anfield with points in the bag on Thursday evening. While Liverpool will attempt to extend their gap over Arsenal and Manchester City.

The Blades, to no surprise, have been the worst team on their travels in the Premier League this season picking up six points in the process. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool have been comfortably the best home side in the top-flight, and they remain the only team left that have not yet lost on home soil.

In his BBC Sport column, former Premier League striker Chris Sutton has given his verdict on Liverpool vs Sheffield United.

Chris Sutton predicts Liverpool vs Sheffield United

“This is top versus bottom and Liverpool striker Mohamed Salah is going to be captaining my Fantasy team – that should tell you all you need to know about what I am expecting to happen here.”

He added: “Against Brighton on Sunday, Liverpool did what they have done all season, which is finding a way to win even when they fall behind. This should be far more straightforward because Sheffield United do not have the quality to cause them the same problems the Seagulls did.”

Sutton later added his score prediction: a 5-0 win to Liverpool.

As things stand Liverpool are at the top of the table with a two point gap to second place Arsenal, and a three point gap to last season’s treble-winners Manchester City.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, Sheffield United are four points behind 19th Burnley, seven points behind Luton Town in 18th, and ten points behind Nottingham Forest in 17th. The Blades do have two games in hand on Forest.
