Sheffield United may not have played a match in the last three weeks, but they have still seen their players pick up injuries on international duty.
In Greece’s most recent European Championship qualification game, against Georgia, George Baldock was forced off on the hour mark due to a soft tissue injury which was later revealed as a calf injury.
This injury occurred just two days ago which has naturally cast doubt into his involvement for Sheffield United’s game against Fulham on Saturday.
Chris Wilder gives injury update for the Blades
Speaking to The Star, Chris Wilder gave an explanation into the right-back’s availability for Saturday.
“We’ve assessed him and from his point of view it’s going to be touch and go, there’s no getting away from that. Hopefully he will be [available], but I don’t think it’s as bad as first feared and hopefully that’ll be kept down to a minimum.”
Additionally, Wilder admitted that Sheffield United striker Cameron Archer and midfielder Anis Slimane are not far away from being ready to play again. While he added that Oli Arblaster, Will Osula and Anel Ahmedhodzic have returned back to Shirecliffe with no fitness issues.
The Blades will need as many boosts as they can get for Saturday as they try and get some sort of positive run of results going.
