“We haven’t had enough of those…” – Wilder makes honest remark ahead of Arsenal clash

Sheffield United’s manager, Chris Wilder, has emphasised that every match in the Premier League is vital and has urged his players to deliver a competitive performance when they face title contenders Arsenal on Monday.

Despite the odds stacked against them, as Mikel Arteta’s formidable side visits Bramall Lane boasting an impressive record of 25 goals in their last six league matches, Wilder remains resolute.

With United’s opportunities to secure crucial results dwindling, Wilder has made it clear that he expects nothing less than a determined effort from his team.

He said during his pre-match press conference on SUTV: “We have to produce a performance that represents ourselves, our football club, and that the supporters are proud of.

“We haven’t had enough of those this season and we have to produce more of those than not, so there are no free hits regardless of the opposition.”

Arsenal faced a setback in the Champions League last week with a 1-0 loss away to Porto. However, their impressive form in the league has seen them secure victories in their last six matches, placing them just two points behind leaders Liverpool. With Manchester City also in the title race, the competition promises to be intense and could go down to the wire.

Speaking about the tough game on Monday night: “They are flying, but what would you rather do? Play in a Championship game on Monday night or play Arsenal in front of the world, playing world-class players and a team absolutely flying?”
