According to reports, Chelsea are considering a potential move to acquire Aaron Ramsdale, a product of the Sheffield United academy.
The England international goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale, has lost his position as Arsenal’s primary goalkeeper, with Mikel Arteta favouring David Raya in goal. Ramsdale, who was previously the first-choice goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium after joining from Sheffield United in 2021, is now reportedly seeking a departure from the club.
According to reports from Football Insider, Ramsdale has become a key target for Chelsea, signaling his potential move away from Arsenal.
Departing from Arsenal could potentially enhance Aaron Ramsdale’s prospects of surpassing Jordan Pickford of Everton in the England national team.
Ramsdale began his football journey at Bolton Wanderers before completing his academy development at Sheffield United. After his time in South Yorkshire, he ventured to AFC Bournemouth in 2017. However, he eventually returned to Bramall Lane in 2020.
Despite his efforts, Ramsdale couldn’t prevent Sheffield United from relegation from the Premier League in the 2020/21 campaign. Nevertheless, his impressive performances in goal caught the attention of Arsenal, leading to his transfer to the club in 2021.
There have been previous rumours suggesting the Blades have a 15% sell-on clause, while other sources have cited a 25% sell-on clause when he was linked with a £60 million move to Chelsea a few months ago.
