West Ham United are facing several absentees for their trip to Sheffield United on Sunday due to a mixture of international duty, injury issues and suspensions.
The Hammers will resume Premier League action as they travel to Bramall Lane to face the Blades. This comes as a welcomed shift of focus following their exit from the FA Cup at the hands of Bristol City in midweek. During the game, Said Benrahma kicked out at his opposite number and was shown a straight red card for violent conduct, which means he will not take part on Sunday.
To add, the club are currently grappling with a crisis on the injury front, as Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta, and Michail Antonio were all sidelined and unavailable for the recent match. Additionally, a Hammers club insider report from The West Ham Way states that Pablo Fornals and Edson Alvarez picked up injuries during training, further adding to the team’s current injury concerns.
Meanwhile for Sheffield United things could be trending in a positive direction on the injury front, for once. Jayden Bogle, George Baldock, Anel Ahmedhodzic and Auston Trusty all missed the FA Cup trip to Gillingham but are likely to feature in the matchday squad this Sunday, per Premier Injuries.
