During Saturday’s 4-0 victory over Gillingham, Will Osula bagged himself his first two goals of the season which delighted his manager Chris Wilder who spoke very highly of the 20-year-old after the game.
Osula started Sheffield United’s Premier League campaign due to injuries but when the Blades brought in Cameron Archer, and Oli McBurnie returned from injury, the young Dane dropped to the bench. Unfortunately shortly after he picked up an injury himself, in training, but he has finally worked his way back into the team.
Chris Wilder handed Osula a start against Manchester City at the Etihad, and in the FA Cup tie at Gillingham, and the manager was happy that his promising young striker repaid the favour with his brace.
“Delighted. He’s been a breath of fresh air for me. Working with young players is key and I thought all three of the young players were outstanding and we had young Luke [Thomas] and McAtee as well. Will getting his goals was great, Brooksy yet again produced another outstanding performance, young Femi was good at right-back.” [SUTV]
The Blades now have a couple of weeks to freshen up and work hard on the training ground before facing West Ham United at Bramall Lane on January 21.
