Sheffield United fringe midfielder departs

Carlisle United have officially confirmed the signing of midfielder Harrison Neal from Premier League side Sheffield United. This marks the third acquisition under the new ownership of the Piatak family and Castle Sports Group, following the earlier signings of Josh Emmanuel and Luke Armstrong. The addition of Neal strengthens Carlisle United’s squad as they continue to build under their new ownership.

Carlisle have confirmed the payment of a fee for midfielder Harrison Neal, emphasising their commitment to strengthening across the pitch.

Prior to joining Carlisle, Neal had been on loan with fellow League One side Stevenage during the first part of the season. However, his time under manager Steve Evans at Stevenage resulted in only five league appearances, with just one of those in the starting eleven. The permanent move to Carlisle presents a fresh opportunity for Neal to make an impact.

It is an excellent signing for the League One side and they are bound to see some proper old fashioned tackles and tussles with him in the lineup. They’ve also got themselves a natural born leader as well, having wore the captains armband for the Sheffield United U18’s and U21’s team

Although he was highly thought of at Shirecliffe, at 22 he understandably wants a shot at regular first team football. Hopefully this move turns out to be better than his last one.
