Sheffield United star on “another level” according to pundit

Despite Sheffield United losing to Luton Town on Boxing Day, Carl Asaba found reason to commend James McAtee’s performance. The Manchester City loanee stood out as one of the more positive players for United.

In the second half, McAtee notably shifted to a more central role, displaying mobility on and off the ball, and ultimately causing issues for the Hatters with his dynamic play.

The Manchester City youngster will be unavailable for the next game against his parent club, marking a significant absence for the Blades, especially in conjunction with the unavailability of Gustavo Hamer and Anel Ahmedhodzic.

Despite this setback, Asaba remains impressed with McAtee’s current display of qualities that warrant recognition and praise. He explained on SUTV: “The boys were playing some brilliant intricate football, still creating chances. You know, McAtee, he’s just playing at another level at the moment, causing everyone problems, running from central.”

McAtee showcased his talent with a remarkable winning goal against Brentford a few weeks ago, establishing himself as a constant threat for Sheffield United. The crucial challenge for the City youngster is to demonstrate sustained consistency throughout the entire 90 minutes; it’s fair to say he’s had his moments of brilliance in matches, but we don’t always see that.

If Sheffield United are to climb the challenging relegation mountain then he will have to provide moments of inspiration for his team.
