Micah Richards heaped praise on James McAtee following his spectacular match-winning goal for Sheffield United in their 1-0 triumph over Brentford last Saturday.
In the most recent episode of The Rest Is Football podcast, the renowned pundit commended the impressive performances of the Manchester City youngster during his loan spell with the Blades this season.
Following his standout performance against Thomas Frank’s side, the 21-year-old received further acclaim, with Chris Wilder describing his display as “outstanding.”
Micah Richards had nothing but praise for James McAtee, applauding not only his stunning performance but also commending his overall contributions during his time at Sheffield United thus far.
“Where’s he from? Where’s he from?”, Micah Richards jokingly asked on The Rest Is Football podcast.
“The way he moves, the guile on him, you can tell he’s been brought up the correct way, can’t we? Always looking to get on the ball, lovely, both-footed but his strike was exceptional.”
McAtee proved last season he has unbelievable talent with the ball at his feet, and he proved it once again last Saturday with a magical curling left-footed strike. But one thing I have been impressed with this term is his mentality to play through an extremely tough start. Additionally his work-rate has been fantastic and if he keeps his performances up, more goals will surely come his way.
