Chelsea could be set for huge selection boost against Sheffield United

Suffering their seventh defeat of the season has left Chelsea in 12th place in the Premier League, prompting them to contemplate their next moves in search of momentum. The recent string of losses, including three in the last four matches, has dampened the positive vibes following the thrilling four-all draw with Manchester City just before the international break.

Mauricio Pochettino appears to have a clear stance on the necessary actions. In his post-match press conference after the Everton defeat at Goodison Park, he hinted at the need for a change in ambitions or active involvement in the transfer market to align expectations with reality.

However, these deliberations don’t provide an immediate solution to the challenges at hand. With the countdown to the Sheffield United match underway, Pochettino, despite his frustrations, views it as an opportunity for Chelsea to bounce back.

Despite struggling against various teams, Chelsea have managed victories against two of the current bottom three, namely Luton Town and Burnley. On the other hand, Sheffield United, sitting at the bottom of the table, reappointed Chris Wilder and secured their first three points in his second tenure, against Brentford, making the upcoming match a formidable challenge for the Blues.

Chelsea could be handed a huge boost at the weekend as Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia near a return to match fitness: “Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia are so close, but at the same time we had a small delay, but we hope that they can be involved soon,” Pochettino said during an interview with football.london.
