Oli McBurnie confident the Blades can “hurt” Burnley

Oli McBurnie has assured Sheffield United fans that the team is committed to moving past their disappointing performance against Bournemouth and is determined to bounce back in the upcoming match against Burnley.

While recognising the significance of actions over words, McBurnie acknowledges the need for a positive response following a subdued display in the defeat to Bournemouth in front of a home crowd. Bournemouth were worthy winners, dominating from start to finish.

The Blades managed only two shots on target, both late in the game.

McBurnie, returning after a month-long absence due to a groin issue, is now in contention to start in the crucial fixture at Turf Moor, which is being widely regarded as a “must-win” for both football clubs.

Both managers have come under scrutiny over the last few weeks, and rumours will be circulating about the losing manager’s future.

United’s number nine previewed the upcoming away trip:

Sheffield United did fair well against the Clarets last term, beating Vincent Kompany’s men 5-2 at Bramall Lane, and dominating the early proceedings at Turf Moor before Wes Foderingham was sent off, which flipped the game on its head.

McBurnie has confidence in the Blades being able to hurt Burnley:

“We know what Burnley are about – we played them two times last year and we know what we can do to hurt them.”
