Paul Heckingbottom gives injury update ahead of Brighton

Sheffield United might receive some positive injury updates ahead of their upcoming match against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Blades are set to face Brighton, a team praised for their performances under Roberto de Zerbi. The Seagulls are coming off another Europa League fixture this week, making United optimistic about causing an upset on the South Coast. Especially considering the hosts’ injury list.

In his press conference, manager Paul Heckingbottom has confirmed that key players Oli McBurnie and Anel Ahmedhodzic are back in training with the squad. Unfortunately though, Rhian Brewster will be out for Sunday’s game.

“Rhian’s had a scan on the back of his knee, not his original injury. We’ll be without him this weekend.

“(McBurnie and Ahmedhodzic) Potentially [starting]. Both out [training] today. Touch and go, we won’t take risks if there’s any doubt.” [SUTV]

Heckingbottom should be starting with the team that started the second half against Wolves, and with the same shape. In my opinion that second half performance was the best we’ve been out of possession all season long.

Continuity with personnel and system, along with our first three points of the campaign, will hopefully give Sheffield United some sort of platform down at the AMEX.
