Paul Heckingbottom issues strong “competing” statement

Paul Heckingbottom has issued a strong statement during his latest press conference about Sheffield United not being worried about not competing against the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal, but they are more concerned about picking up results against teams 5 or 6 places away from the Blades.

United have come close to picking up points against Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Man United, but being close doesn’t cut it in football when the pressure is firmly on.

“Our league table probably goes up another 5 or 6 places. That’s our league table but at the minute we’re still bottom of that. We’re competing for different things to a Manchester United or an Arsenal, we know we are, but we’re still competing. That’s part of having that perspective and being realistic to where we are and what’s important to us,” Heckingbottom admitted during his press conference.

This public message will now put even more pressure on the Wolverhampton Wanderers game next week at Bramall Lane. Then they host Bournemouth a couple of weeks later which will also be deemed a must-win game.

But first, they will have to try and navigate a gruelling task against Arsenal down at the Emirates with pressure building on Paul Heckingbottom.
