Sheffield United summer-linked man back on the market

According to TeamTalk, it seems that Ryan Kent may be available for a move in the January transfer window after a challenging spell at Fenerbaçhe. While Sheffield United considered Kent during the summer, he ultimately chose to join the Turkish team after leaving Rangers. Now, there’s speculation that he might return to the UK.

For Sheffield United, who have had a difficult start to the Premier League season with no wins in nine matches, the January transfer window could be an opportunity to make some crucial changes. However, their fate could already be sealed by then, albeit not mathematically.

The Blades have been forced into a formation change from their 5-3-2 system following several injuries to the back line. Against Manchester United they played a back four with two central midfielders and two more advanced midfielders who were free to drift wide or drop into the number 10 position.

That type of system would suit Kent as he can operate as an attacking midfielder, winger or as an inside forward.

Sheffield United face a tough task with a challenging away fixture against Arsenal this weekend, failing to get a result at the Emirates could result in Paul Heckingbottom getting sacked, according to the latest reports from Football Insider.
