Manchester United suffering multiple key injuries

Manchester United are facing another huge injury setback before they play Sheffield United on Saturday night.

Already grappling with several injuries this season, Erik ten Hag’s team may also be without Casemiro, who sustained an ankle injury during Brazil’s match against Venezuela. The 31-year-old was substituted in the latter part of the game and, having missed training with the Brazil squad on Saturday, it is uncertain that he will be fit for the clash with Uruguay on Wednesday and against the Blades on Saturday, according to the Manchester Evening News.

Sheffield United are searching for any advantage they can possibly find over the next few weeks, and facing the Red Devils without Casemiro would certainly be a plus for Saturday’s hosts.

Manchester United already have question marks over the fitness of Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia.

The Blades will be confident knowing they will possibly be up against a weakened defence and being at home they have to test the Man United back line.

Meanwhile, this international break gave Rhian Brewster and John Fleck a chance to catch up on match sharpness. Although, Fleck’s minutes in the development squad against Reading was cut short due to the Scotsman receiving a questionable red card. George Baldock should also be back in contention to play at the weekend.
