Ryan Oné to prove he’s “one” for the future

Striker Ryan Oné continues his form at Sheffield United from where he left off at Hamilton Academical. The 17-year-old, who scored on his debut for United’s u18’s last week, wasted no time in making an impact with the u23’s squad on Tuesday afternoon. He netted the Blades’ fifth goal in a dominant 6-0 victory over Fleetwood Town after coming off the bench.

Oné, who left the Scottish side earlier this month for a significant transfer fee, is already impressing as a prospect. Despite his young age, his performances are turning heads among Blades fans and it may not be long before he catches the attention of first-team manager Paul Heckingbottom, who has given plenty of chances to promising youth players over the past few years.

Sheffield United 6-0 Fleetwood Town

Senior players Yasser Larouci, Auston Trusty, Tom Davies and Anis Slimane were involved in the match, with Trusty and Slimane playing the full 90 minutes.

Anis Slimane has impressed on his road back to full fitness having created several chances for the development team over the past couple of weeks, and he scored a free-kick against Cardiff City recently. He managed to rack up an assist for the opening goal against Fleetwood before netting a left-footed volley later on.

While Tom Davies controlled the game in the first half but was substituted at halftime as he banked more minutes ready for Sunday’s encounter against Newcastle United.

Overall, it was a good run out for the senior players, and Sheffield United’s development team once again proved too much for their opponents.
