Stuart McCall previews big game against Everton

Sheffield United will be eager to bounce back after Wednesday night’s cup disappointment, and they have a chance to erase that bitter feeling, if they come out victorious in the early kick off against Everton on Saturday.

The Blades are yet to record a single point in the Premier League after conceding a late goal in their last couple of games, when they looked set to earn a share of the spoils.

Stuart McCall has previewed the match against Everton, which is already being labelled as a relegation six-pointer by many.

McCall remarked:

“Everyone is talking about it. Is it a must-win – is it a must-win for Everton and a must-win for us?

“I have been through this a few times and as a player when we scored in last minute to beat Liverpool and Bradford stayed up, we got a third of our points in last few games, it was crazy.

“It’s not, for us, a must-win, we’ll be desperate to do it but a case of building. Tonight was a disappointment but we saw signs at Forest and against City.” [SUTV]

As the Blades went crashing out in the Carabao Cup, Everton eventually beat League Two side Doncaster Rovers. The Toffees are also yet to achieve points in the Premier League, but a midweek win might give them the edge in confidence moving into the weekend.

According to the expected points table [understat], Sheffield United should’ve had a point by now, whereas Everton should’ve claimed four points. That suggests Everton are performing relatively well, but they can’t finish their chances, which is coming back to bite them.
