Pundits write off Sheffield United’s chances

Sheffield United takes on Nottingham Forest in their first away match following their return to the Premier League.

Paul Heckingbottom’s squad aims to recover from their opening-day loss to Crystal Palace. However, pundit Chris Sutton predicts a 2-0 victory for Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

In his BBC Premier League prediction column, Sutton highlighted Forest’s impressive home record from the previous season, where they secured 30 out of their 38 points at the City Ground, ranking as the 10th best in the league.

Sutton exclaimed:

“Forest will need more of the same on their own turf this time around. I do see them winning this one for starters, but that’s got a lot to do with how Sheffield United are shaping up.

“Blades boss Paul Heckingbottom has got a heck of a job on his hands to beat the drop after losing his best players this summer without replacements arriving.

“Palace were much better than Sheffield United last week, and Forest could run out comfortable winners too.”

Robbie Savage has also said that he expects the Reds to run out comfortable winners against the Blades, “I’m saying Nottingham Forest to win this game to nil.”

Paul Heckingbottom has won both of his previous games at the City Ground as a manager, including the 2nd leg play-off game in the 21/22 campaign. Despite the win on the night, that evening still holds a bitter taste in the mouths of those associated with Sheffield United.

Can the Blades upset the apple cart and claim a victory on the road?
