Iliman Ndiaye agrees to join Marseille per Fabrizio Romano

Amongst the circulating rumours of Iliman Ndiaye leaving for Olympique Marseille, there have been several details and numbers quoted by various journalists.

Initially it was thought that Sheffield United valued the Senegal international at £11m. However, Alan Nixon has quoted that the Blades will only entertain offers of £30m for Ndiaye, even though Ndiaye is in his final year of his contract.

There have been talks between Ndiaye and Sheffield United over extending his contract, but the two parties cannot agree on a release clause. And Fabrizio Romano has tweeted the infamous “here we go” tweet – Ndiaye will join Marseille later today, and he will sign until 2028.

The French team have already signed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ismaïla Sarr this summer, and reports of Ndiaye leaving for Marseille are not going away.

Earlier this summer, Viktor Gyökeres was sold by Coventry City to Sporting Lisbon for a reported fee of £20.5m. He too was in his final year of his deal, so United demanding £30m for their star player isn’t a ridiculous valuation. We await the actual fee Sheffield United will receive, but one thing we do know is they will have to get an immediate replacement, which will be an extremely tough task.
