Blades hold talks with promising left-back Larouci

Sheffield United is pursuing a potential transfer for Yasser Larouci, a talented left-wingback. The 22-year-old has impressed during his time in France, particularly during his spell with recently-relegated Troyes.

Larouci began his football journey in the youth ranks of the reputable academy of Le Havre, before showcasing his abilities as an attacking full-back, attracting interest from several top European clubs. At just 16 years old, Liverpool secured his services amidst fierce competition.

After his contract with Liverpool expired, Larouci joined Ligue 1 side Troyes in 2021. Since then, he has consistently stood out due to his energetic bursts and powerful dribbling capabilities.

Troyes were unable to avoid relegation last season, and now teams from England and France are queing up for the French U21 international.

Yorkshire Live revealed that Sheffield United is actively working on securing a loan agreement for Larouci. Although there are other clubs showing interest in his signature, the player himself has expressed a strong desire to move to the Premier League and join Paul Heckingbottom’s squad. It is understood that discussions have already taken place regarding a potential move.

Even though Larouci has shown plenty of promising signs over the last 18 months, he is relatively still a novice which often shows in his decision making. Having said that, there is no doubt that the 22-year-old has potential to be a world class player.
