Harry Boyes joins Wycombe Wanderers on loan

Wycombe Wanderers have announced the loan signing of left-wingback Harry Boyes. The 21-year-old will further his development away from Bramall Lane once more in League One.

Before joining Sheffield United in 2018, Boyes came through the Manchester City academy. Boyes has been out on loan four times but is yet to make a first-team appearance for the Blades.

His first loan spell was with Bradford Park Avenue for two months in the 2020-21 season. He would then spend the 2021-22 campaign with Solihull Moors in the National League where his performances earned him a spot in the National League Team of The Season. Most recently he has had loan spells with Forest Green Rovers and Lincoln City.

In the previous season, the left-wingback started the campaign with Forest Green playing 16 times in all competitions and registering four assists. Harry Boyes would then make another loan move joining Lincoln City in January, where featured 18 times for them.

The 21-year-old signed a new three-year deal with the Blades last summer. Paul Heckingbottom is a big fan of the player, but because there is no gateway to the first team, sending him out on loan again is the best option for the youngster.

This move also hints that Sheffield United will be adding to the left-wingback position this summer.
