The Blades are closing in on the signing of Bénie Traoré with the Ivorian expected to arrive in Sheffield today. United may have found another gem in the promising forward.
Swedish news outlet Sportbladet claims that Sheffield United have agreed a fee of £3.9m to acquire the 20-year-old. There are bonuses which could see the deal rise to £4.8m.
Traoré caught the eye of many European teams with his impressive performances over the last 12 months. The Ivory Coast u23’s international has an aura about that even made Ajax stand up and take notice. The Dutch side are well-known for producing and developing young talent. So it must’ve been a huge compliment when they sent scouts to Hacken’s games to watch Traoré play.
The 20-year-old does offer variation in the attacking areas, he likes to drift wide and use his pace to get in behind the defensive line. Nevertheless, he is a goalscorer by trade, as seen by his astonishing tally of 15 goals in 20 appearances, per SofaScore.
